Alhambra Airport and its six sided hangar
1928
Alhambra, California
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Western Air Express opened the field on 157 acres in 1928 with one asphalt runway and a 44 foot hexagonal hangar that could take six aircraft at once. The airline flew Fokker F-32s out of it and dedicated a terminal building in April 1930. The airport closed in 1946 and the ground was sold off for houses and commercial property.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
