Acres of Books, the bookstore Ray Bradbury fought to keep
1934
Long Beach, California

A vast secondhand bookshop on Long Beach Boulevard from 1934 until 2008, with unsorted stacks running back further than most customers went. Ray Bradbury called it his favourite bookstore and spoke publicly against the redevelopment that closed it. The building survived. The books did not.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
