Police recovered twenty six bodies from the crawl space of John Wayne Gacy's ranch house in an unincorporated pocket of Norwood Park Township over the winter of 1978, and seven more elsewhere, most of them young men and boys the neighborhood contractor and party clown had hidden under his own floor. The house was demolished to the foundation in 1979 and the lot sat empty for years. The home there now carries a different number on purpose. The block otherwise looks like every other block.
