Height limits keep Washington itself low, so the region's tallest buildings stand across the river in Rosslyn. This tower passed the Rosslyn Twin Towers a block away when it topped out in March 2013. It was the largest speculative office project anyone attempted in the region during the recession, and it sat completely empty until Nestle agreed in 2017 to move its American headquarters in.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
