For a while the busiest airfield in the world, four parallel runways cut into a coral island. The Enola Gay and Bockscar left from here in August 1945. The two loading pits where the bombs were raised into the aircraft are still in the ground, covered with glass and a plaque each.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
