Where the Ninja Turtles were drawn
1983
Union Street at Central Avenue, Dover, New Hampshire

Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird were sharing a house at 28 Union Street in November 1983 when they drew a turtle standing upright with a pair of nunchucks, and kept going until they had four of them. Mirage Studios, the publisher on the first issue, was that living room. The house is gone and the lot belongs to the Dover Housing Authority, but the city marked the block in November 2023 with a state historical marker at this corner and a decorative manhole cover down the street that Eastman designed, paid for by a resident's fundraiser and more than two hundred donors.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
