Waffle House Wendy
Waffle House, 12304 Dessau Road, Austin, Texas
Still from the original video
A fight spilled across the counter of this Waffle House on Dessau Road in north Austin in 2021, and a customer threw a chair at an employee. She put a hand up, knocked it to the floor without breaking step, and carried on working. Halie Booth had no idea it had been filmed. The clip sat almost unseen for more than a year before resurfacing in December 2022, at which point she became a folk hero to anyone who has ever worked a night shift in food service, complete with an action figure. She was fired about a year after it went viral.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
