The tiny Oklahoma town flattened by the film's fictional tornado is a real tiny Oklahoma town, which the production half-demolished and then helped rebuild, and which now runs a Twister museum out of gratitude and self-preservation. It sits in the actual Tornado Alley the film dramatizes, where the real thing arrives most springs without a film crew.
