A paper company's branch in a mid-sized Pennsylvania city that most of the country had never thought about became, over nine seasons, one of the most beloved workplaces in television. The show shot in Los Angeles, but it meant Scranton, the welcome sign from the credits, Poor Richard's, the Steamtown mall, and fans come by the thousand to a city the series turned into a destination.
