The unnervingly perfect town a man does not know is a television set was not a set, it is a real planned community on the Gulf, built in the 1980s on principles of front porches and short blocks that were meant to feel like an ideal small town and, on camera, feel like a trap. People buy houses there partly because of the film that used it as a warning.
