Breakfast at Tiffany's
1961
Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, New York
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The film opens at dawn with a woman in a black dress eating a pastry alone outside the jeweller's window, a taxi pulling away behind her, one of the most quoted images in American film, shot on an empty Fifth Avenue before the traffic started. The store leaned into it for sixty years and eventually built a café upstairs so you can, in fact, have breakfast there.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
