A small group led by teacher and rainforest advocate Matt Diller organized the first St. Louis Earth Day Festival in 1989. The nonprofit earthday365 now runs it each spring on Forest Park's Muny Grounds as one of the largest Earth Day celebrations in the country. (2027 date approximate, following the event's established late-April pattern.)
