The Muny, outdoor theatre since 1917

Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Eleven thousand seats under the open sky between two oak trees in Forest Park, running a summer season every year since 1917, which makes it the oldest and largest outdoor musical theatre in the country. The last nine rows, about fifteen hundred seats, are free and have been since the beginning. It rains on them regularly and the show mostly goes on.
