A free two day waterfront festival in the town of Oyster Bay on Long Island's North Shore, celebrating the local oyster and maritime heritage with seafood vendors, a chowder contest, tall ships, and live music. It has run annually since the mid-1980s and draws tens of thousands of visitors each October, making it one of the largest festivals of its kind on Long Island.

Theodore Roosevelt built a rambling frame house on a hill above the bay and ran the country from it every summer of his presidency, the Russo-Japanese peace was brokered by cable from here, the deal that won him a Nobel.
Elias Hicks helped build this meeting house and preached in it for decades.
Founded in 1881 as the Meadow Brook Club, this is the oldest polo club in the United States still playing.
A four day fall festival on the grounds of Heckscher Park in Huntington Village, hosted by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce each Columbus Day weekend.
