The Hmong International Freedom Festival, known locally as J4, gathers one of the largest Hmong community celebrations in the Midwest at McMurray Fields over the Fourth of July weekend. The event features soccer and volleyball tournaments, traditional dance, and food vendors, drawing Hmong families from across the country. It grew out of informal community gatherings in the 1970s and marked its 44th edition in 2026.
