A five-day agricultural and carnival fair at the westernmost tip of Lake Superior, with midway rides, livestock shows, and stock car racing at the adjoining Superior Speedway. It has run for decades as the Twin Ports region's main county-style fair.

Superior's shipyards built the whalebacks, cigar-shaped steel freighters that shed water over rounded decks, a design of Alexander McDougall's that hauled ore and grain around the lakes for decades.
