The ballpark opened on the Montclair State campus in Little Falls in 1998, and the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center opened alongside it that December, tucked in on the first base side. The New Jersey Jackals of the independent Frontier League played here from 1998 until 2022. Montclair State and NJIT still use the field, and a Major League Lacrosse team played its first season here in 2001.
