The park opened in May 2008 for the independent league Texas AirHogs, who folded in 2020. American Cricket Enterprises took the lease and spent about $20 million tearing out the infield and rebuilding the place, and it reopened in July 2023 for the first season of Major League Cricket. It was the first American stadium converted specifically for professional cricket.
