Whitefish Dunes and nine settlements deep

The dunes here hold evidence of nine separate periods of occupation going back about three thousand years, from Archaic hunters through the Potawatomi. The tallest, Old Baldy, stands ninety-three feet. The wave-cut caves at Cave Point next door are where the lake demonstrates what it does to limestone.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
