Aron Ralston was down-climbing this slot alone, having told nobody where he was going, when a chockstone shifted and pinned his right forearm against the wall. He spent five days there, drank his own urine, recorded goodbyes, and on the sixth day broke the bones and cut the arm off with a two-inch multitool blade, then rappelled and walked out. The canyon gets visitors now who should not be in it.
