John Lee Hooker recorded Boogie Chillen in this house on Second Avenue in 1948. Berry Gordy cut the first record for his Tamla label here in 1959, before there was a Hitsville. George Clinton and Funkadelic later treated Studio A as a second home for the better part of twenty years. The state highway department has spent years planning an I-94 service drive that would take the building.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
