The Texas Buddhist Association builds the Jade Buddha Temple
1990
Houston, Texas
Lay Buddhists founded the association in 1979 under three monks, Wing Sing, Jan Hai and Hung-I, and built this temple on two and a half acres near the Bellaire Boulevard Asian corridor in 1990. It takes no single sect and runs services in Mandarin, Vietnamese and English. It grew into one of the largest Buddhist institutions in the southern United States and later added a 515 acre retreat centre at Hempstead.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
