The SS John W. Brown is one of two Liberty ships still under steam
1942
Baltimore, Maryland
Of the roughly 2,700 Liberty ships built in the war, two still run under their own power, and this is one of them. She hauled cargo for the Merchant Marine, then spent decades in New York as a floating vocational high school before coming back to Baltimore. She is named for a labour union leader, not a general. She is kept at Pier 13 on Clinton Street and still takes passengers out on the Chesapeake.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
