Daniel E. Salmon ran the Bureau of Animal Industry at the Department of Agriculture, and the bacteria genus Salmonella carries his name. He built this frame house, also called Clover Crest, around 1893 as one of the first in Somerset, a small town he helped develop. It went on the National Register in 2002.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
