The Public Garden and the swan boats
1837
Boston, Massachusetts
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
The first public botanical garden in America, with pedal-driven swan boats that the same family has operated since 1877, the idea taken from Lohengrin. The bronze ducklings by the pond are from the picture book set here. The bench by the lagoon is where the therapist levels with the young genius in Good Will Hunting, 'your move, chief', and where mourners left flowers for Robin Williams.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
