Paramount Pictures hired Rapp and Rapp, the firm behind the Chicago and the Uptown, to build a house in Aurora that could handle sound film, and it opened in 1931 with Art Deco detail dressed in Venetian ornament. The chain sold it within a few years and it survived as a second run cinema. A restoration in the 1970s brought it back, and it now stages its own Broadway scale musical season for the whole Fox Valley.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
