The Olson House
1948
Cushing, Maine
Ryan Prescott · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
The weathered farmhouse on the hill in Christina's World, painted by Andrew Wyeth in 1948 with his neighbor Christina Olson, who could not walk, pulling herself up the field toward home. Wyeth painted the house and the Olsons for thirty years from an upstairs room. The Farnsworth Museum keeps the house as bare as he found it, and visitors stand in the field lining up the exact view without being asked to.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
