In August 1990 Danny Rolling murdered five students in Gainesville over four days: Sonja Larson, Christina Powell, Christa Hoyt, Manuel Taboada and Tracy Paules. He was executed in 2006. The 34th Street Wall is a quarter mile of public graffiti that gets painted over constantly, except for one black panel with red hearts, the five names in white, and the words Remember 1990. The city protected the panel until 2000 and the university's fraternity council has repainted it since. The case fed Kevin Williamson's script for Scream, which is the least important thing about it.
