The Nipper Building, where RCA Victor made the records
1915
Camden, New Jersey
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Camden was the headquarters of the Victor Talking Machine Company from 1901 and of RCA Victor after the 1929 merger. Four round stained glass windows of Nipper the dog listening to a gramophone went into the tower of Building 17 in 1915 and still light it. Victor's Camden studios recorded Caruso, Rachmaninoff and the Original Dixieland Jass Band. The factory is now apartments.
