The John W. Hunter House, one of the oldest houses in the Lower Peninsula
1822
Birmingham, Michigan
Andrew Jameson · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
John West Hunter came from New York in 1818 and built this house in 1822, when the land had only just been surveyed and Birmingham was a crossroads with a mill. It is one of the oldest intact dwellings left in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, went on the National Register in 1972, and is now open to the public as part of the city museum rather than lived in.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
