The Japanese Tea Garden in a quarry
1918
Brackenridge Park, San Antonio
A worked-out rock quarry turned into a garden, run for two decades by the Jingu family who lived on site. They were evicted after Pearl Harbor and the place was renamed the Chinese Sunken Garden. The original name was not restored until 1984.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
