Tyree Guyton began nailing salvaged objects to abandoned houses on the street where he grew up, after his grandfather handed him a paintbrush. The city bulldozed parts of it twice and arsonists burned several houses. It is now among Detroit's most visited sites.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
