Barrio Viejo
1880
Tucson, Arizona
Rows of Sonoran row houses built flush to the pavement in adobe and painted in strong colours, one of the largest surviving concentrations in the country. Urban renewal bulldozed about eighty acres of it in the 1960s for a convention centre. What is left is protected.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
