The fires that rebuilt New Orleans in Spanish brick

Fire took 856 buildings on Good Friday when priests refused to ring the alarm bells during services, and a second in 1794 took 212 more. The Quarter was rebuilt under Spanish rule in brick with courtyards and iron galleries, the French Quarter is architecturally Spanish.
