The Brattle Theatre still projects from behind the screen
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The single screen inside Brattle Hall started showing foreign and repertory films in February 1953 and has not stopped since. It is one of the last movie houses anywhere still using rear projection, with the projector behind the screen rather than above the audience. Nearly every American art house of its generation has closed. The Brattle is still independently run.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
