The Basque Block
1949
Boise, Idaho
Boise has the largest Basque community in the United States, drawn by sheepherding work in the high desert. One downtown block holds a boarding house from 1864, a museum, a fronton for pelota, and a festival every five years that fills the street.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
