The Adirondack Experience at Blue Mountain Lake
1957
Blue Mountain Lake, New York

A museum on a hillside above the lake holding guideboats, logging gear, a private railway car and the material of a working region rather than a scenic one. The guideboat is the local invention worth the trip: a rowing boat light enough for one man to carry over a portage and stiff enough to take a client and his gear across open water.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
