T. S. Eliot was born on Locust Street
1888
2635 Locust Street, St. Louis, Missouri
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Born in a house on Locust Street to a family that had been in the city for generations, his grandfather having founded Washington University. He left for Harvard and then England and became about as English as a person can become, and still wrote that he considered the Mississippi the beginning of everything for him, the strong brown god. The house came down in 1938.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
