Harry Longabaugh was eighteen when he stole a horse, a gun and a saddle near here and spent eighteen months in the Sundance jail, the only sentence he ever served. He walked out as the Sundance Kid, a branding decision that outperformed the crime. The town of a thousand keeps a statue and the courthouse records. The festival in Utah borrowed the name from Redford, who borrowed it from here.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
