Sergeant York's valley
1918
Pall Mall, Tennessee
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Alvin York came home from the Argonne, where he had taken 132 prisoners nearly alone, to this valley on the Cumberland Plateau, and spent the rest of his life here running the farm the state gave him and building schools for the children of the mountains. The farm and his grist mill are a state park.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
