Saguaro country and the O'odham harvest

The giant saguaro grows only in the Sonoran Desert, takes about seventy years to produce its first arm and can live two centuries. The O'odham harvest the fruit with long ribs cut from dead cactus and count their new year from it. The desert museum below is a zoo, botanical garden and natural history museum in one.
