The 25 acre waterfront park in Morris Heights opened in 1973 as Harlem River Bronx State Park. It was renamed the following year for Roberto Clemente, who had died on New Year's Eve 1972 when a plane carrying earthquake relief to Nicaragua went down off Puerto Rico. He was the first Latin American player elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
