Resistol has been making cowboy hats in Garland since 1938
1938
Garland, Texas
E. R. Byer and the hatmaker Harry Rolnick started the brand in Dallas in 1927, naming it for fur felt that would resist all weather and a treated band that resisted scalp oil. They added a western line in 1935 and moved the operation to Garland in 1938. The plant has turned out roughly a million cowboy hats a year, from cheap straw work hats to beaver-felt pieces costing thousands.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
