John and Abigail Adams bought this house, which they called Peacefield and the family called the Old House, and it stayed with the Adamses through John Quincy and Louisa and on to the historians Henry and Brooks Adams. Next door stands the Stone Library that John Quincy asked for and his son Charles built after both presidents were dead. It is the heart of Adams National Historical Park.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
