New Jersey bets on an aquarium to restart Camden
1992

The state built the New Jersey State Aquarium on the Camden waterfront in 1992 as the anchor of a plan to bring visitors back to a city they had spent forty years leaving. Attendance disappointed almost immediately and the building was gutted and reopened as the privately run Adventure Aquarium in 2005. It holds about two million gallons of water and a hippo exhibit, and it still draws more people to Camden than anything else on the river.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
