Mary Roberts Rinehart lived on this ground from 1911 to 1922, when she was the best selling mystery writer in America and, for a stretch of the First World War, a Saturday Evening Post correspondent at the Belgian front. Her house was pulled down in 1969. In 2006 four neighbours leased three acres of weeds beside the elementary school and turned it back into ravine woodland and trails carrying her name.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
