Jane Glover, wife of Marietta's first mayor, gave the land in 1863 after a train wreck near the town killed a group of Confederate soldiers. The Atlanta campaign filled it. More than three thousand men from all eleven Confederate states plus Maryland, Missouri and Kentucky are buried here, one of the largest such grounds anywhere.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
