Marcy Houses, the project Jay-Z rapped his way out of
1949

Twenty seven six storey buildings opened here in January 1949, about 1,700 apartments on twenty eight acres of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Shawn Carter grew up in them and named them so often on record that the address became shorthand for the distance an American rapper is expected to travel. Jaz-O, Memphis Bleek and Sauce Money came out of the same blocks.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
