Lyndhurst and the man who cornered gold
1838

A Gothic Revival villa of asymmetrical towers and pointed arches, bought by Jay Gould after he and Jim Fisk tried to corner the gold market and crashed the economy on Black Friday in 1869. He commuted to Wall Street by steam yacht and built a greenhouse large enough to be called a crystal palace.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
