Louis Sullivan's last jewel box, robbed by Johnny Depp

Sullivan spent the end of his career designing tiny ornate banks for small midwestern towns because nobody would give him a skyscraper any more, and this 1919 building in Columbus is the last of the eight. He supervised its construction personally and documented its ornament in the book he published shortly before he died. In March 2008 Michael Mann started principal photography on Public Enemies here, using Dillinger's actual 1932 Studebaker, borrowed from a museum up the road.
